How We Work: Four Phases, Zero Guesswork
Every Founder's Point engagement follows the same four-phase process — whether we are automating your invoicing workflow or building a custom mobile app. The phases keep the project predictable, give you clear checkpoints for decisions, and make sure we never build something you do not need.
Low-Friction Engagement
We built this process for business owners who are cautious about technology investments — and rightfully so. That is why we offer $0 upfront for qualified builds and keep every engagement month-to-month, no long contract. You never sign a long contract, and you can pause or stop at any phase boundary. Our job is to earn your continued business through results, not paperwork.
The Four Phases
Discovery
Typical timeline: 1 -- 2 weeks
We start by understanding how your business actually runs — not how a slide deck says it should. We talk with you and your team, walk through current tools, and identify the tasks that eat time without adding value.
Checkpoints
- Map existing workflows end to end
- Identify the highest-impact automation or app opportunity
- Define success metrics so we both know when the project is working
- Deliver a clear scope document with timeline and cost estimate
What you walk away with:
You leave Discovery with a written plan, a realistic timeline, and a cost range — before any build work begins. If the project is not a fit, we will tell you. No sales pressure, no sunk cost.
Plan First Version
Typical timeline: 1 -- 2 weeks
Once you approve the scope, we design the smallest version of the solution that delivers real value. We call this the first version — not an MVP with cut corners, but a focused build that solves one problem well.
Checkpoints
- Define user flows and interface wireframes
- Select the right tech stack for longevity and cost
- Identify third-party integrations (POS, CRM, scheduling tools)
- Finalize the build plan with weekly milestones
What you walk away with:
You approve a detailed build plan before a single line of code is written. Every feature has a reason. Nothing is built just because it is technically interesting.
Build & Launch
Typical timeline: 4 -- 8 weeks (varies by scope)
We build in weekly cycles. Each week you see working software, give feedback, and confirm we are on track. No disappearing into a black box for three months.
Checkpoints
- Weekly demo of new functionality
- Your feedback incorporated before the next cycle
- Quality assurance testing throughout — not bolted on at the end
- Rollout plan prepared: staff training, data migration, go-live date
What you walk away with:
Your system or app launches into production with your team trained and ready. We handle the technical deployment, domain setup, app store submissions, and any data migration required.
Improve Monthly
Typical timeline: Ongoing, month-to-month
Software is never finished. After launch, we stay on as your technology partner. You tell us what is working, what is not, and what your business needs next. We prioritize, build, and ship — every month.
Checkpoints
- Monthly check-in to review usage data and priorities
- Bug fixes and security patches included
- Feature additions based on real-world feedback
- No long-term contract — stay because the work earns its keep
What you walk away with:
Your system improves steadily without requiring you to manage a development team. Cancel anytime — your code and data are always yours.
What Happens Between Phases
Every phase boundary is a decision point for you. After Discovery, you decide whether to proceed with a build. After the first version launches, you decide whether ongoing improvement is worth it. We never auto-renew or pressure you into the next step. The work either speaks for itself or it does not.
Communication throughout is direct and frequent. You will have a single point of contact — Matthew Hisscock — and can reach us by email or phone. No ticketing systems, no support tiers, no waiting in a queue.
Who This Process Fits
This process is designed for owner-operators and small business leaders who want technology that works without becoming a second full-time job to manage. If you run a dry cleaning operation, auto shop, self-storage facility, or school or daycare — this is built for you.
